Hanmere growth continues with acquisition of Amerplast
Hanmere Polythene is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Amerplast Ltd, a Finnish flexible packaging solutions provider with customers in Europe and Russia and production facilities in Finland and Poland. Amerplast CEO Mark Rooney has subsequently been appointed CEO for the group of companies consisting of Hanmere Polyethene, Plasmech and Amerplast.
With sustainability at the forefront of its business, Amerplast is recognized among others for its AmerGreen programme that delivers a variety of environmentally friendly flexible packaging solutions. This Amerplast initiative strongly aligns with Hanmere’s objective of reducing the environmental impact of producing plastic products. Together with Plasmech, the three companies will continue to focus on developing environmentally sound products and practices, in support the circular economy and their customers’ environmental goals and efforts.

Hanmere has provided high quality polythene packaging to a wide variety of industries since 1966. As a pioneer in its field, the company strives to constantly find ways to improve its performance, delivering to its customers best possible products and service. Growing into a Pan-European organisation has been in the works for a couple of years. The successful implementation of the Plasmech Packaging acquisition meant that less than a year later Hanmere was again in a prime position for further expansion.
